Convertion is one of the many pseudonyms used by prolific dance music singer/songwriter/keyboardist/producer Leroy Burgess. Burgess' biggest hit under this name was the Martha Williams song "Let's Do It," issued by Sam Weiss' N.Y.- based Sam Records. A huge dance hit, the effervescent jam charted number 90 R&B in early 1981. The track can be found on the 2000 Nervous CD Sam Records Extended Play Disco Classics.

Another Convertion favorite is the smooth "Sweet Thing," released in summer 1983 on N.Y. label Vanguard Records. Burgess re-recorded the song with Swedish house group Slippery People as Slippery People featuring Leroy Burgess on a single released in February 2001 by Sweden's Rip-a-Dip Recordings. ~ Ed Hogan, All Music Guide
