After the dissolution of the Sex Pistols, guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook continued working together, completing work on the Great Rock n' Roll Swindle soundtrack and supporting Johnny Thunders and Joan Jett. They also formed a new band called The Professionals with guitarist Ray McVeigh and bassist Paul Meyers, the latter formerly of Vic Goddard and the Subway Sect. The Professionals lasted for two releases, a 1980 self-titled effort and the following year's I Didn't See It Coming, which despite their potential failed to capitalize on post-Pistols publicity. Jones went solo and also backed Iggy Pop and Andy Taylor, while Cook joined the Chiefs of Relief and eventually wound up with Edwyn Collins shortly before the Pistols' reunion tour. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
