Featuring one member from California and one from Europe, the synth-dance duo the Weathermen are primarily influenced by Kraftwerk, though some of their more humorous socially satirical material recalls Devo, and they occasionally tread into industrial territory as well. The Weathermen debuted on the British Play It Again Sam label in 1987 with the droning, repetitive Ten Deadly Kisses, and followed it with the bizarre The Black Album According to the Weathermen a year later. The Weathermen reached their satirical peak with 1990's Beyond the Beyond; nothing has been heard from the duo since 1992's Global 451. ~ Steve Huey, All Movie Guide
